Two Worlds and a Missing Friend

In Headspace, Omori travels with Aubrey, Kel, and Hero through forests, towns, caves, and other areas. Their adventure involves searching for their missing friend Basil and encountering characters who provide quests or block the group’s progress. Meanwhile, Sunny’s experiences in the real world reveal information about his childhood and former friendships. Moving between these environments gradually connects the imaginary adventure to the events that shaped Sunny’s life.

Battles Controlled by Emotions

Combat uses a turn-based system in which players select actions for their party members. Characters can attack, defend, use skills, or consume items to recover health and energy. A central mechanic involves emotions that affect combat performance. Happy, Sad, and Angry characters have different advantages and weaknesses, requiring players to adjust their strategies according to the enemy’s emotional state.

The main gameplay activities include:

·         Explore Headspace and locations in the real world.

·         Talk to characters and follow story objectives.

·         Search for Basil and investigate his disappearance.

·         Fight enemies in turn-based battles.

·         Use emotions to influence attack effectiveness.

·         Collect items, equipment, and healing supplies.

·         Solve environmental puzzles to reach new areas.

·         Make decisions that affect the story’s progression.

Exploring Memories and Making Choices

Omori does not follow a simple sequence of numbered levels. Instead, the game contains interconnected areas, dungeons, and story sections that become accessible as the adventure continues. Players encounter enemies, complete objectives, and defeat bosses to advance. Exploration also reveals optional interactions and side activities. Certain decisions determine which parts of the story become available, creating different routes and endings.

To play Omori, move through the environment, examine objects, and interact with characters to learn what to do next. During combat, choose actions based on each party member’s abilities and the emotions affecting enemies. Managing Heart, which represents health, and Juice, which powers skills, is important during longer encounters. Outside battles, pay attention to conversations, investigate unfamiliar areas, and complete puzzles. Progress depends on exploration, combat preparation, and choices made throughout Sunny’s journey.
